Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia leaves 113 injured

The number of wounded individuals has risen to 113 as a result of the enemy's attack on Zaporizhzhia on January 8.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reports this.

Fedorov also said that 59 people are currently hospitalized, 10 of them are in serious condition.

"113 wounded, 10 of them in serious condition – these are the consequences of yesterday's Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia," Fedorov said.

The head of the regional military administration added that the Russian army struck the center of Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs.

"Thirteen people died. Medical assistance was provided to 113 victims, including a 13-year-old child. Currently, 59 people are hospitalized, 10 of them in serious condition," he said.

It should be mentioned that at 7:00 a.m. on January 9, Fedorov posted online that there were 109 people injured in Zaporizhzhia at that specific time.

At the same time, it was known yesterday evening that 63 people were injured in the city due to the Russian strike by guided aerial bombs. According to the head of the regional military administration, a total of 80 people sought help from hospitals.

As for the dead, their number is 13 people.

  • The enemy carried out nine air strikes on Zaporizhzhia, Stepnohirsk, Temyrivka, and Malynovka.
  • 178 UAVs of various modifications attacked Lobkove, Prymorske, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Novodarivka and Olhivske.
  • nine MLRS attacks targeted Lobkove, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka and Novodarivka.
  • 37 artillery strikes were fired on the territory of Lobkove, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novoandriivka, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Bilohiria, Malynivka, Novodarivka and Olhivske.

Two people died, and two more were injured as a result of the enemy attack.

56 reports of the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure were received.

On January 8, at around 4:00 p.m., Russian troops began shelling the city of Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. The Russians hit residential buildings in the Shevchenkivskyi district with two aerial bombs.

As a result of the shelling, multi-story buildings, an industrial facility, and other infrastructure of the city were destroyed. Debris hit a tram and a minibus with passengers. Cars parked nearby were damaged.

Thirteen fatalities have been confirmed as a result of Russian shelling. The city of Zaporizhzhia has declared January 9 as a day of mourning in honor of the victims.
