Solutions to win: Ukraine's Ministry of Defense codifies over 1,300 weapons and military equipment samples in 2024

In 2024, the Ministry of Defense approved the use of over 1,300 units of weaponry and military equipment, of which nearly 75% were manufactured domestically.

The Ministry of Defense reported that.

"This indicator shows the high efficiency of Ukrainian defense companies, which not only fulfill the demands of the front during wartime but also display competitive capabilities internationally," Dmytro Klimenkov noted.

Among other things, the following were codified in various categories:

  • 251 samples of unmanned aerial systems (UAS/UAVs);
  • 169 samples of ammunition;
  • 153 samples of electronic warfare (EW) and reconnaissance;
  • 108 samples of engineering equipment;
  • 97 communication equipment;
  • 57 ground-based missile systems (GMS).

According to Dmytro Klimenkov, this result was possible because the Ministry of Defense worked closely with Ukrainian manufacturers and international partners.

For reference:

Rubryka reported that the Ministry of Defense will allocate an additional UAH 1.1 billion to purchase drones. These funds will be transferred directly to the brigades to finance critical needs.

The Ministry of Defense has also officially sanctioned and incorporated the domestically made TOKKO unmanned aerial vehicle system. Its kamikaze-style drones are designed to withstand enemy electronic interference.

In addition, the Ministry of Defense codified and approved using the new Ukrainian-made SOVA 10 UAV in the Defense Forces.

As of October this year, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and authorized 70 engineering assets for use in the Defense Forces. Of these, 47 are domestic and 23 are foreign-made. More than 40 assets were codified during the third quarter of 2024.

Additionally, the defense department has officially sanctioned using the UNITS interactive training system in the Defense Forces. This system was created by Ukrainian engineers and is specifically tailored for both individual and group fire training purposes.
