Ukrainian Bohachuk wins by TKO and becomes mandatory challenger for the WBC world title

Ukrainian boxer Serhii Bohachuk claimed victory in the undercard of the Usyk vs. Fury 2 fight. The Ukrainian defeated England's Ishmael Davis.

This was Bohachuk's first fight in four months following a controversial loss to Vergil Ortiz for the interim WBC super welterweight title. The Ukrainian knocked down his opponent twice but ultimately lost on points, as reported by Suspilne.

In October, Bohachuk was added to the undercard of the Usyk vs. Fury 2 event. Initially, he was set to face Uzbekistani boxer Israil Madrimov, but his opponent was replaced due to illness.

Bohachuk's new opponent was Briton Ishmael Davis, who had won 13 of his 14 career fights. However, Davis had suffered a split-decision loss to fellow Brit Josh Kelly in his last bout in September.

The Bohachuk vs. Davis fight could have ended as early as the second round. The Ukrainian landed a powerful left hook, knocking Davis down, but the Brit managed to recover.

The fight ultimately ended prematurely: it was stopped after the sixth round, awarding Bohachuk a win by technical knockout.

The bout took place as part of the undercard for the grand event headlined by the rematch between the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBO titleholder Oleksandr Usyk and Britain's Tyson Fury.

The 29-year-old Ukrainian is now the mandatory challenger for the WBC title.
