Ukrainian light heavyweight boxer Daniel Lapin triumphed in the undercard of the rematch between the holder of the WBA, WBO, WBC, and IBO heavyweight titles Oleksandr Usyk and former champion Tyson Fury.
The 27-year-old Ukrainian decisively defeated Frenchman Dylan Colin. The ten-round fight was won by our compatriot via unanimous decision: 100:90 and twice 99:91.
The IBF Intercontinental and WBA Continental titles in the light heavyweight division were at stake in this bout.
Daniel remains undefeated in his professional career. His record now stands at 11 wins (4 by knockout) in 11 fights.
For Colin, this was the first loss in his professional career. His record includes 14 wins (4 by knockout).
Lapin became the second Ukrainian boxer to secure a victory in the Usyk – Fury undercard. Earlier, Andrii Novytskyi defended the WBC International title in the heavyweight division, defeating Mexico's Edgar Ramirez.
Another Ukrainian, 29-year-old Vinnytsia native Serhii Bohachuk, is set to fight in the Usyk – Fury rematch undercard. In a ranking bout in the super welterweight division, he will face Britain's Ishmael Davis, who replaced former WBA world champion Israil Madrimov of Uzbekistan, who withdrew two weeks before the fight.
Let us remind you that Usyk and Fury will battle for all the titles currently held by the Ukrainian boxer in the rematch.
