Rubryka writes about this, referring to a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
As American analysts indicate, a spokesman for the Khartiia brigade of the NGU, which operated in the Kharkiv area, reported on December 20 that Ukrainian forces carried out their first ground strike using only robotic systems instead of infantry. This happened near the settlement of Lyptsi.
According to the brigade representative, Ukrainian forces used dozens of robotic systems, including:
As a result of the operation, Russian positions were successfully destroyed.
ISW analysts note that this attack became an example of how Ukraine is developing technological innovations to compensate for limitations in manpower.
Ukraine continues to advance in innovative drone production. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the country has successfully completed testing a line of drones equipped with fiber-optic communication. Additionally, the process of obtaining a NATO code for these drones is nearing completion.
Colonel Vitalii Dobriansky, head of the Department of Innovation Activities of the Armed Forces, highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating that a critical challenge has been addressed: overcoming enemy electronic warfare (EW) systems during drone operations.
In a related development, a Ukrainian drone manufacturer announced the assembly of a prototype for the first FPV drone made entirely from Ukrainian components.
UAV Production in Ukraine
The Minister of Digital Technologies has emphasized that the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia has become a technological conflict, evolving into a "war of drones," with the number of drones directly influencing the situation on the battlefield.
As previously reported by Rubryka, the Ministry of Defense plans to allocate an additional 1.1 billion UAH for drone procurement. These funds will be sent directly to military brigades to address their most critical needs.
In related news, the German company HIGHCAT will test drones in Ukraine that are operated using fiber-optic coils. This technology enables drones to function effectively even under intense radio-electronic interference.
Ukrainian developers are also making significant strides. They recently introduced the WarDog drone, designed to conduct reconnaissance in challenging terrain while withstanding enemy electronic warfare systems.
