Trump administration explores solutions to end Russia’s aggression against Ukraine permanently – Rep. Michael Waltz

Mike Waltz, nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump for the position of national security adviser, said that the Trump team is studying possible ways to end Russia's war against Ukraine and prevent it from resuming in the future.

Waltz said this in an interview with CBS News.

"What does success look like in line with our interests? How do we end the war? Who's at the table? How do we drive, you know, all sides to the table, and what's the framework for- for an agreement? Those are things that we're thinking through with his fantastic team that he's assembling," the Trump adviser said.

At the same time, Waltz noted that he would not go into details.

He also noted that his team is actively coordinating its actions with the current US administration until Trump's inauguration on January 20 regarding any negotiations on a ceasefire in Ukraine.

"Just since the election, everyone coming to us, our European allies, President Zelensky in that meeting, and others have shifted to how to that framework I just talked about. How do we end this conflict? How do we do it in a way that restores stability, stops the carnage, and hopefully makes this a permanent end, not just- not just a pause? Those are all things that we're thinking through," Waltz emphasized.

As reported, the Trump team is currently considering a plan to end hostilities in Ukraine and is holding discussions with the current US administration and the Ukrainian side.

At the same time, he added that Ukraine may not expect to receive as much military assistance from the US as it does now when he returns to power.
