Solutions to win: National Bandura Capella of Ukraine launches European charity tour to support Ukrainian artists serving in army

The National Bandura Capella of Ukraine, named in honor of Heorhii Maiboroda, has initiated a charitable Christmas concert tour across various European nations to collect donations for artists currently serving in Ukraine's armed forces.

The first stop on the tour was Kyiv, followed by performances by the National Bandura Capella of Ukraine in various cities in Germany and France. The tour will wrap up on December 28–29 with two concerts in Ivano-Frankivsk.

The concert tour features a lineup of meticulously chosen carols and "schedrivky" [ traditional Ukrainian folk songs typically performed on Generous Evening during New Year celebrations. Like carols, these songs offer praise and admiration to the host and their family, following the Christmas and New Year customs—ed.]. The delicate vocals of soloist Yana Illarionova, intertwined with the male voices, bring a distinct touch to the show and contribute to a magical atmosphere of Ukrainian Christmas.

It is worth mentioning that the National Bandura Capella Orchestra of Ukraine, which has existed for 106 years, is the oldest artistic ensemble in the country. Presently, nine musicians with weapons in their hands are bravely defending their homeland against Russian aggression as part of the Ukrainian armed forces.

From October 11 to 16, 2024, the Kyiv Sports Palace was turned into an unforgettable musical event venue for a series of five concerts by "Okean Elzy" in honor of their 30th anniversary. The band raised 10.2 million hryvnias (equivalent to almost $250,000) to support the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
