Solutions to win: Hurkit Charity Fund hosts chess tournament to source UAV mobile control points for Ukraine's intelligence in Kyiv

Participate in the chess tournament on December 8 in Kyiv to support the Hurkit Charity Fund in purchasing essential equipment for Ukraine's military. All relevant information on how to participate can be found at the end of the article.

Rubryka reports this.

What is the problem?

Ukrainian intelligence officers need mobile control points for their UAVs. This refers to a specialized van or car used for controlling the UAVs from a far distance, regardless of the location. Such a vehicle allows the crew to relocate quickly and gives them a wider range of take-off options. Moreover, the pilots can operate the UAVs comfortably, increasing effectiveness.

Military drone control systems are used to track and target valuable enemy assets in both occupied territories and their own territory. However, these systems are quite costly.

What is the solution?

The Hurkit Charity Fund team decided to raise funds for three mobile UAV control complexes for Ukraine's intelligence.

The total collection goal is 3.5 million hryvnias.

As part of the campaign, the Hurkit Foundation and the Chess School will host a charity event—a rapid chess tournament—on December 8 in Kyiv. All registration fees will support the collection of mobile UAV control points for Ukrainian scouts.

How does it work?

Hurkit has been helping Ukrainian defenders for several years and on an ongoing basis:

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the fund has assisted more than 170 combat crews and units.

Over the course of this time, 37 individuals have joined the Hurkit team at various points, and over 70 volunteers have assisted in organizing charitable events.

Over 7,000 individuals have taken part in Hurkit's sports and cultural events.

According to the foundation, Hurkit's regular sports events significantly impact addressing defenders' requests.

"Hurkit tries to attract and unite people with different interests. In addition to sports, we also organize cultural events, such as discussions, film screenings, and lectures. Our events are about offline meetings, networking, and helping the Defense Forces," foundation volunteer Anastasiia Rozhynska says.

"Organizing an event with the Chess School has become a good tradition. Last time, we strengthened the air defense units and gathered ten mobile fire groups. We transferred everything to the unit operating in the country's central regions. We are periodically given the results of their work, and we are pleased about the unit's successes together," said the fund's volunteer and officer of Ukraine's armed forces, Anatolii Rybachok.

About 100 people played at the first tournament on March 3 in Kyiv, and then over 90,000 UAH was collected for mobile air defense fire groups.

"We were delighted with how diverse the participants were: from children to adults. And, of course, we are always happy when military personnel and veterans come to us. After all, every event is thanks to them," the fund's team says.

So, Hurkit invites Kyiv residents and city guests to participate in the second charity chess tournament, which will take place next Sunday.

The tournament winners will receive special awards, and all participants will receive souvenirs.

"The prizes are unique – these are special cartridge cases with engraving. Each is a souvenir of the event and assistance to the Defense Forces—a kind of medal of kindness," the Hurkit Charity Fund comments.
