Military actions have destroyed over 330,000 objects in Ukraine, including 50,000 real estate and infrastructure buildings in 2024 alone

During the year, the number of objects destroyed due to military actions in Ukraine increased to 330 thousand.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction – Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba announced this during the forum "Digitalization of Urban Development Activities in Ukraine. Current Status and Next Steps for Transparent Reconstruction", according to Ukrinform.

In early 2024, Ukraine recorded 280 thousand destroyed objects. However, over the course of the year, this number increased by another 50 thousand. Kuleba stressed the importance of not only rebuilding what was destroyed but also ensuring the quality of projects that meet the citizens' needs.

According to the minister, digitalization is a critically important tool for the effective reconstruction of the country. It allows:

• to plan the restoration of facilities;
• to control the distribution of resources;
• to ensure transparency and accountability at all stages of project implementation.

Oleksii Kuleba also emphasized that digital technologies help strengthen trust in Ukraine both among its citizens and in the international arena. This plays an important role in attracting international assistance and investments to restore destroyed infrastructure.

The minister noted that restoration should take into account long-term goals and needs of communities. Each decision should be based on logic, care for people and efficient use of resources.

It is worth adding that during the 1,000 days of war, the environmental damage caused by military actions is estimated at approximately $71 billion. As a result of shelling and forest fires, an additional 180 million tons of carbon dioxide were released into the atmosphere.
