On Sunday evening, Russian troops once again initiated an attack on Ukraine using strike drones. Early on the night of December 2, the Russian forces targeted Ternopil with drones, causing a fire to break out in a residential building and resulting in the death of at least one person. The Defense Forces successfully destroyed approximately two dozen hostile UAVs that posed a threat to Kyiv.
The Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces, the Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal, the head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration Viacheslav Nehoda, and the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that.
Around 7 p.m. on December 1, the Air Force reported that enemy UAVs had been spotted in the northern Chernihiv region and were moving southwest, and a second group was in the eastern Kharkiv region heading west.
Ternopil
Amid the declared air alert following a Russian drone attack in Ternopil, the sound of an explosion was heard.
On his Telegram channel, Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal called on people to stay in shelters.

Later, Nadal reported that the enemy had again attacked Ternopil with drones.
"The enemy has again attacked Ternopil with drones. There is a fire in a residential building. Relevant services are working on the scene. All details will be provided later," the mayor wrote at 02:03 a.m.
Around the same time, the head of the regional military administration specified that the house had been hit. One person died, and others were injured as a result of the attack.

"There are dead and injured. Rescuers are extinguishing the fire," he added.
According to the updated information from Serhii Nadal, the fire spread to the top 5th floor and partially affected the third and fourth floors after the drone struck the apartment building.
The mayor reiterated that there were fatalities from the attack, but he is not currently revealing the exact number. Before this, the media reported two deaths. Several individuals have sustained severe injuries.

"At this moment, rescue and special services are still working. There are dead and seriously injured people. Doctors are doing everything possible to save the wounded. We are preparing a place for Ternopil residents whose apartments were damaged to stay temporarily. I will report the details later," the message says.
The people living in the apartments affected by the fire are being evacuated, and arrangements are being made for temporary living accommodations.
The State Emergency Service reported that one person died and three people were injured in the high-rise building attack, and about 100 more people were evacuated.
The blast wave damaged the windows of neighboring buildings, schools, and 20 cars.
Psychologists continue to work at the scene. A mobile emergency center has also been deployed for the victims.

Kyiv
On the night of December 1-2, the Russian military again launched drones over Kyiv. The night alert in the capital lasted 4.5 hours.
Serhii Popko, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that enemy drones were still infiltrating Kyiv in large numbers and from various directions.
The defense forces detected and neutralized about two dozen enemy UAVs that potentially threatened the capital.
There were no damages or casualties in the city due to the attack.
"The operational report data is being updated and clarified. We thank the defenders for their protection," he summarized.
At about six o'clock in the morning, the alarm was sounded again in Kyiv. The signal was associated with another threat of enemy drones. However, closer to 7a.m., it was already turned off.

On the night of December 1, Russia launched almost 80 drones over Ukraine. Air defense forces operated in six regions. The defense forces shot down 32 Russian UAVs, and another 45 were lost in location.
Over the past week, the Russian army has used more than 500 guided aerial bombs, almost 660 attack drones, and about 120 missiles of various types against Ukraine.
