"Before the fact of Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine, almost nine out of ten Europeans (87%) agree with the provision of humanitarian assistance to people affected by this war. 71 percent of EU citizens support sanctions against the Russian authorities, companies, and individuals, and another 68% agree with providing financial assistance to Ukraine.
Six out of ten Europeans support granting Ukraine the status of a candidate country, and 58% agree with EU financing for the purchase and delivery of military equipment to Ukraine," the report says.
At the same time, a significant number of Europeans (31%) perceive the Russian war against Ukraine as the biggest problem at the EU level among the 15 items on the list of concerns, ahead of the closest following items, such as migration problems (28%) and the international situation (22%).
76% of European respondents agree that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a threat to the security of the EU.

The Eurobarometer data also showed the highest level of trust among Europeans in the European Union since 2007 (51%). Most of these people are aged 15-24 (59%).
