Nobel laureate Krausz spearheads creation of gifted children’s educational center in Zakarpattia region

A unique educational center for gifted children will appear in the Zakarpattia region thanks to the Nobel Prize laureate in physics initiative, a Hungarian by origin, Ferenc Krausz.

The head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, reported this on Facebook.

What is the solution?

Ferenc Krausz, who has actively supported Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war, is developing the center concept with the head of the Bativska community, Dmytro Taranenko.

"The Nobel Prize laureate in physics, a native of Hungary, Ferenc Krausz, intends to implement a project to create an educational center for gifted children in Transcarpathia," the head of the region said.

The project aims to prepare talented children to participate in international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, computer science, and later – in chemistry and biology.

How does it work?

As Biletsky emphasized, it will be a modern educational hub where leading teachers from Ukraine and abroad will work to reveal the potential of gifted children.

The plans include the creation of not only educational premises but also an extensive infrastructure. The center should consist of:

• a sports complex,
• a park,
• a playground,
• a dormitory.

The center may turn into an entire children's town in the long term.

The project team is currently focused on resolving legal and technical issues, searching for project participants, and preparing to sign a memorandum of cooperation.

"This is a very progressive initiative, thanks to which we will be able to train young geniuses here in the Zakarpattia region. Several legal and technical issues lie ahead, including the search for project participants and signing a Memorandum of Cooperation for successfully implementing this plan," the head of the regional military administration added.

Krausz's initiative has already received support from the Hungarian government and the Nobel Foundation.
