Romanian post office honors Ukraine's 1000 days of Ukraine's resistance with commemorative postcard series
A special presentation of a unique set of postcards marking 1,000 days of Ukraine's heroic resistance against Russian aggression was recently held at the Romanian Post headquarters in Bucharest. This initiative, launched by the Romanian Post, symbolizes solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
According to Rubryka, citing the Embassy of Ukraine in Romania, the event was attended by:
- Ihor Prokopchuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to Romania,
- Ana Tinca, State Secretary for Strategic Affairs at the Romanian Foreign Ministry, and
- Florin Ștefan, Director General of the Romanian Post.
The presentation of postcards honoring 1,000 days of Ukraine's resistance against Russia's aggression also included Ukrainian citizens temporarily residing in Romania, Romanian media, and local community members. Regional offices of the Romanian Post in cities such as Brașov, Cluj, Craiova, Suceava, Timișoara, Iași, and even Chișinău (Moldova) participated via video bridge, hosting simultaneous presentations.
Ukrainian Ambassador Ihor Prokopchuk expressed gratitude for Romania's solidarity and praised the initiative to create special postcards dedicated to 1,000 days of Ukraine's resistance. He stressed the importance of continued joint efforts to achieve Ukraine's victory and establish a just and lasting peace.
Florin Ștefan, Director General of Romanian Post, announced that posters featuring the postcard designs will be displayed in all post offices across Romania and on the company's vehicles. This initiative aims to draw attention to the situation in Ukraine and express support for the Ukrainian people.
Recently, initiatives across Europe have shown strong support for Ukraine:
- Lviv Municipal Library collected postcards, drawings, and amulets for defenders.
- In Warsaw, Ukrainians held a memorial at the Red Cross headquarters on November 9, supporting soldiers in Russian captivity.
- Nova Poshta launched the "Play for Ukraine" campaign, with Elina Svitolina as its ambassador. Participants sharing personal victories on the company's website receive limited-edition red tennis balls signed by the tennis star.
