Solutions from Ukraine: Ukrainian Veterans Fund launches information campaign to promote respect and support for all veterans

The Ukrainian Veterans Fund has launched an information campaign called "This is the Exact Veteran."

Although society claims to support veterans strongly, a recent study by the Ukrainian Veterans Fund reveals a significant disconnect: 46% of veterans feel misunderstood by society, and this number rises to 63% among active military personnel. This suggests that defenders often face isolation and societal judgment.

At the same time, demobilization is only the beginning of a long path of reintegration for many of them, on which they need help and understanding. Therefore, today, it is essential to destroy stereotypes and barriers that often distance society from veterans.

What is the solution?

Every veteran is unique, but each deserves society's respect and support. This is the key message that the campaign's creators hope to convey through the video and outdoor advertisements.

With its social advertising, the Ukrainian Veterans Fund calls on Ukrainians to show respect for defenders, offer assistance to those returning from war, and create an atmosphere of unity and involvement in civilian life for them.

How does it work?

The campaign's heroes are veterans who courageously strive to make their way back home despite the many challenges and obstacles they face. Some are still actively defending Ukraine's independence on the front lines. Despite not having the appearance of conventional superheroes, they have (and continue to) put in tremendous efforts to ensure that Ukrainians can thrive in their own country.

The information campaign serves as a reminder that the reintegration of veterans relies on active involvement from the public: only in this way will people who gave their strength and health for people's freedom be able to return home not only physically, but also morally.
