Bild reports this.
These drones, known as Mini-Taurus, will come equipped with state-of-the-art systems that will make them nearly impervious to Russian electronic warfare and GPS interference.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed the supply of drones to Ukraine.
According to insiders, several hundred such drones will be supplied every month starting in December. Several samples are currently being tested in eastern Ukraine in real combat conditions.
Mini-Taurus can analyze the terrain and determine the location even in difficult weather conditions or destroyed infrastructure.
This allows the drone to continue its mission even in the event of a loss of radio signal, which significantly increases the accuracy of the hit.
The Mini-Taurus has a flight range four times greater than that of standard Ukrainian kamikaze drones and costs much less than its foreign counterparts.
Although Bild does not disclose the exact cost, it is known that the American Switchblade 600 costs about 100,000 euros, and the Russian Zala Lancet costs 35,000 euros.
Pistorius emphasized that Ukraine will be able to effectively use these drones against critical Russian military facilities, such as command posts and logistics centers.
In the future, Germany, according to the minister, may consider introducing similar technologies in its Bundeswehr.
For reference:
At the beginning of the full-scale war, Germany provided Ukraine with the most significant military aid of all European countries. In particular, Berlin provided the Ukrainian military with:
Patriot air defense systems,
Leopard 2 tanks,
PzH 2000 self-propelled guns,
and other weapons.
In particular, there is now an agreement with Germany on immediately strengthening Ukraine's air defense. The agreement provides for deals in which the signatory countries will contribute to joint projects or finance their own projects to strengthen the air defense capabilities of Ukraine's armed forces.
In August, the mass media reported that, according to Chancellor Olaf Scholz's order, new requests for financing assistance to Ukraine would not be approved. However, Germany has already earmarked about 8 billion euros for military support to Ukraine for 2024.
At the same time, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius noted that the government will allocate additional funds to supply weapons to Ukraine in 2024.
Rheinmetall, a German company, has recently provided Ukraine with 20 additional Marder infantry fighting vehicles. The vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of the third quarter of this year.
