Anatolii Perkov, who has a second-group disability, launched a dating service specifically for people with disabilities. He developed this "pet project" to not only maintain his professional skills while searching for a job but also to address a personal need.

Perkov shared the initiative on LinkedIn.

What is the solution?

The developer explained that the platform aims to provide a space for genuine communication and open relationships.

"We wanted to create a space that would foster real and open connections among people with disabilities. There are many ideas, and much work remains, but the service is now ready to be presented," said Perkov.

How does it work?

The main features available on Meet-me include:

  • Likes and chat: Participants can chat, exchange photos, use emojis, and explore other interactive options.
  • Content moderation: This feature allows users to block others and file complaints for inappropriate behavior.
  • Advanced search filters: These filters help users find like-minded individuals more easily.
  • Telegram notifications and Google registration: These convenient options enhance user experience.
  • Email verification: Managed through the Neverbounce service, ensuring secure sign-ups.
  • Cloud storage: Photos are stored securely in Cloudinary cloud storage.

According to the developer, the service's user base is growing daily.

"Let your search begin here, where we strive to create an environment for sincere and open communication," says the project description.

To get started with the service, simply follow three easy steps: register, create a profile, and begin communicating. You can register here.

Additionally, in Ukraine, a toy animal without a limb was created to help adults initiate conversations with children about disability, inclusion, and acceptance. The toy, a puppy, serves as a tool to raise awareness and promote understanding.
