Israeli early warning system deployment nears completion in Ukraine
Ukraine has received all the necessary components for the implementation of its early warning system from Israel, and the system is now in the final stage before launch.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk shared this update during the Kyiv Jewish Forum.
He highlighted that part of the Israeli system, particularly three-dimensional radars of Israeli production, is already being used by the Ukrainian military.
Korniychuk also mentioned that these radars can be purchased in larger quantities.
In February 2023, Israel pledged to assist Ukraine in developing an early warning system for air threats, specifically aimed at detecting enemy missiles and drones.
Earlier, Israel's Ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, confirmed that Ukraine had received the promised early warning system for air attacks. However, he noted that the implementation of this system is the responsibility of Ukraine.
Additionally, Israel plans to deploy its latest laser anti-missile defense system, "Light Shield," along its borders, with this deployment likely occurring earlier than initially planned.
Israeli Warning System
The Israeli warning system combines radar and optical devices to detect missile launches and drones. These technologies are capable of identifying object sizes and determining potential threats. The data is then displayed on an electronic map, and citizens are alerted through phone notifications or via radio, television, or sirens.
On the night of November 13, continuing into the morning of November 14, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 59 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other drones. Ukraine's air defense forces successfully destroyed 21 of the enemy drones.
Additionally, from the evening of November 12 through the night and into the following morning, Russian forces carried out a combined attack using cruise and ballistic missiles, along with 90 Shahed-type attack UAVs and other drones. Air defense forces managed to destroy 37 drones and 2 missiles.
