Zelensky and Trump agree to maintain “close dialogue” during phone call

The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said he had a phone call with Donald Trump and congratulated him on his win in the US presidential race.

The head of the Ukrainian state wrote this on the X platform.

Zelensky called this conversation "excellent" and added that Trump had won a " historic landslide victory" victory.

"His tremendous campaign made this result possible. I praised his family and team for their great work," the president said.

According to Zelensky, he agreed with Trump to maintain a "close dialogue" and "advance cooperation":

"Strong and unwavering US leadership is vital for the world and for a just peace."

It should be noted that Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Donald Trump on his victory on the morning of November 6.

In his traditional video address, Zelensky called Trump's victory "a really special day" and remembered Reagan.

"Today is a really special day, and one piece of news attracts all the attention worldwide—the compelling result of the elections in America. The clear leadership of President Trump," Zelensky began his speech.

The head of state noted that in Ukraine and throughout Europe, it was important to hear the words of the then-45th US President Trump about peace through strength.

"And when this will be the principle of the policy of the 47th President of the United States, America and the whole world will definitely benefit from it," Zelensky adds.

Speaking about the results of the meeting with the Republicans in September, the Ukrainian president emphasized that "we have interaction at the team level."
