On November 6, President Volodymyr Zelensky and other world leaders congratulated Donald Trump, the candidate for the US Presidency, on his victory in the November 5 presidential election. This comes even as vote counting in some states is still ongoing.

Ukraine's president shared his congratulations on Twitter.

"I congratulate Donald Trump on his impressive victory in the elections!" Zelensky wrote.

He remembered meeting with Trump in September to discuss the United States and Ukraine's strategic partnership, the victory plan, and how to end the full-scale war.

The President of Ukraine added that he appreciates the Republican's commitment to the "peace through strength" approach, which "can really bring a just peace in Ukraine closer."

According to Zelensky, Ukraine is looking forward to the "era of a strong USA" under Trump's decisive leadership and is counting on further "strong bipartisan support of Ukraine."

"I look forward to the opportunity to personally congratulate President Trump and discuss ways to strengthen Ukraine's strategic partnership with the United States," Zelensky said.

In addition to the Ukrainian President, French President Emmanuel Macron also posted a congratulatory message.

"Congratulations to President Donald Trump. Ready to work together, as we have done for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For greater peace and prosperity," Macron wrote.

In turn, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published a congratulatory post, calling the preliminary results of the US election "a huge victory."

"Dear Donald and Melania Trump. Congratulations on the greatest comeback in history! Your historic return to the White House offers a new beginning for America and a powerful affirmation of commitment to the great alliance between Israel and America," Netanyahu wrote on X.

In addition, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was the first member of the European Union to congratulate Republican Donald Trump on his victory without waiting for the official results.

"Congratulations to President Donald Trump on his huge victory. The whole world needs a much-needed victory!" the Hungarian Prime Minister emphasized.

As you know, Orbán has repeatedly expressed his sympathy for Trump in the US presidential race; in particular, he stated that he would open several bottles of champagne if Trump returned to power in the US.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, also congratulated and said this should help "establish peace in Ukraine."

According to him, during Trump's presidency from 2016 to 2020, Hungarian-American political relations "were at their peak," and dialogue and negotiations "were at the forefront of resolving conflicts that threaten world security."

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also congratulated Trump on his victory and said he looked forward to working with him in the years to come.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić congratulated Trump on his victory.

Karl Nehammer stated that the USA is Austria's important strategic partner, and the country's government is looking forward to expanding and strengthening relations.

Serbian President Vučić emphasized that Serbia seeks to work with the US for the sake of stability, growth, and peace and that, together with the US, it will be able to cope with serious challenges.

The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, was the first foreign leader to congratulate Trump.

For reference:

The next American presidential election was held on November 5. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are the leading contenders for the post of head of state.

On the morning of November 6th, voting for the presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives elections was almost finished in nearly all states across the US. Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party, is currently ahead in six crucial "swing" states.

Donald Trump, the leader of the Republican Party, has emerged as the preliminary winner of the US presidential election, surpassing the Democratic Party's representative and sitting vice president, Kamala Harris. The former president has secured the required 270 votes.

Furthermore, the United States also voted for the Senate and the House of Representatives on November 5. Mike Johnson, the current speaker of the House, was elected by voters in Louisiana's 4th district and will continue to serve in the next session of Congress. Additionally, the Republican Party now holds the majority in the US Senate following the elections for the upper chamber.
