United to win: Latvian charity platform launches campaign to aid Ukrainian schoolchildren and military personnel
Ziedot.lv, a Latvian charity platform, along with the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, has announced a charity event to aid Ukrainian schoolchildren and military members.
The Latvian broadcaster LSM+ reported that.
The campaign aims to provide one thousand laptops to children in Ukraine who need them for education during the war. Furthermore, as part of the charitable initiative, they are urging support for the Ukrainian military.
The action is being held to mark almost 1,000 days since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
"On November 19, 2024, it will be 1,000 days since the Russian Federation launched a full-scale war against Ukraine. To support Ukraine, the charity organization Ziedot. lv, in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia, announced a new charity event, the goal of which is to donate 1,000 laptops to Ukrainian children so that they can continue their education during the war and also – to purchase things that are relevant for the Ukrainian military and rescuers: drones, hot meals, charging stations, generators, etc.," the message reads.
The collection of donations will continue until December 5, 2024.
"The Ukrainian people will never forget the kindness and support of the Latvian people at the moment when we need it the most. Every donation, no matter what it is, helps us protect our country and people and bring our victory closer," Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia Anatolii Kutsevol said.
