Over 1,000 people have been injured by Russian mines in Ukraine since start of full-scale war

Since the start of the Russian Federation's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on November 1, 2024, 1,068 individuals have been injured by enemy mines and war remnants.

The Main Department of Mine Action, Civil Protection, and Environmental Safety press service reported this.

"As of November 1, 2024, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine due to enemy mines and explosive remnants of war, 1,068 people have been injured, including 100 children and 968 adults," the message reads.

The Department of Mine Action also specified that among the victims:

• 199 farmers;
• 80 pensioners;
• 112 employees of critical infrastructure;
• 79 drivers;
• 90 students.

Ukrainian law enforcement officers open criminal proceedings against the Russians' violation of the rules and customs of warfare based on the facts of each detonation of Ukrainians on Russian mines.

Earlier, Rubryka reported that since the beginning of the year, sappers have surveyed more than 200,000 hectares of fertile land, cleaned it of mines, and handed it over to farmers so that they could sow and harvest again.

It is worth noting that it may take a hundred years to completely clear the territory of Ukraine of explosive objects as a result of Russian aggression using traditional demining methods.
