Volunteer group from Great Britain hands over 38 pickup trucks for Ukrainian military

British volunteers, led by farmer Mark Laird, continue their support for Ukraine by donating 38 SUVs to the Ukrainian military through the Pickups for Peace initiative.

Rubryka reports, citing the Lviv Regional Military Administration, that Mark Laird has long supported the Ukrainian army. Together with his team, he has provided over 460 vehicles to date.

Instead of purchasing new vehicles, the volunteers donate their own cars, repainting them green before sending them to Ukraine. Residents of Dobrochyn then load these vehicles with humanitarian supplies for the Armed Forces, displaced people, and those in frontline areas. This latest delivery brought around 70 British volunteers to the Lviv region.

Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional Administration, Khrystyna Zamula, expressed deep gratitude, saying, "We are sincerely grateful that you weren't afraid to come to our region. Your visit is a powerful example of solidarity and dedication to supporting our military, inspiring hope for all of us.

Without adequate equipment, our soldiers are more vulnerable in the face of the enemy, so each vehicle donated is truly life-saving and strengthens our defense efforts."

The SUVs provided to Ukrainian defenders are crucial for carrying out combat missions. They will be used specifically for:

  • evacuating wounded soldiers and civilians,
  • transporting essential equipment and humanitarian aid,
  • completing other tactical tasks.

The donated vehicles will support various military units, including:

  • the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo,
  • the 110th and 150th Separate Mechanized Brigades,
  • as well as other units.

"In times of war, the support of international partners is invaluable. We thank the British volunteers for their dedication and bravery, shown not just in words but in actions. Our greatest wish is peace, and to achieve it, we need victory—something only possible through combined efforts," emphasized Zamula.

As a reminder, in August, a group of British volunteer farmers once again delivered a new batch of vehicles to support the Ukrainian military.
