Gennadii Butkevych invests over UAH 3.5 bln into Zhytomyr region businesses in ten years

Gennadii Butkevych, the founder of the BGV Group Management, remains committed to investing in businesses and promoting growth in key industries in the Zhytomyr region. Therefore, since 2015, the investor and his Group have allocated over 3.5 billion hryvnias towards various projects and initiatives in the Zhytomyr region, specifically in mining, construction, development, recreation, education, and sports. These funds have a dual purpose of expanding Group's regional business projects and attracting additional external investments to boost economic growth, improve education, and generate employment opportunities in the region.

"Ukrainian regions offer great potential for investment and development, with each one being unique and offering a diverse range of opportunities for entrepreneurs. Our BGV Group has begun closely interacting with the region since the pandemic began. By that time, we had already established multiple strategic investment projects in the mining industry here. The challenging times brought on by the Covid pandemic and BGV's commitment to social responsibility have prompted a stronger sense of connection and aid for the community. Today, we are successfully carrying out over 10 projects in different areas in the Zhytomyr region. Despite a full-scale war, we are opening factories here, developing real estate, operating social and child development centers, supporting educational organizations, and investing in and globalizing local sports clubs. Zhytomyr has recently become even more dear to my heart – with the new registration, it's now officially my home. And with this, I once again emphasize the sincere desire of our Group to be part of the community and contribute to its growth," Gennadii Butkevych said.

Along with their business ventures, Gennadii Butkevych and his family also contribute funds to various social and philanthropic initiatives in the Zhytomyr region. Since the start of the full-scale war, over 100 million hryvnias have been provided in aid to the Zhytomyr region, with 46 million specifically allocated to supporting the Defense Forces. Psychosocial support centers opened in 2024 in Zhytomyr became one of the flagship projects implemented by the foundation in the region, which included a safe space for IDP teenagers and children of military families and the Sustainability Center. As of now, the foundation and its partners have donated a total of 42,000 food packages to elderly community members as well as almost 7,000 infant kits to families in need through various charitable projects and initiatives.Another crucial aspect of BGV Group Management's work in Zhytomyr region is the promotion and advancement of education. The investment group consistently backs the endeavors of Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, with its founder, Gennadii Butkevych, serving as the official Chairman of the university's Supervisory Board. Only in the past few years of cooperation, the technical laboratory at the educational institution has been upgraded, funding has been provided for an acceleration program to support start-ups, several technology competitions and hackathons have been organized, and a scholarship program has been established for students working on scientific, innovative, and socially relevant projects.
