Five countries of Northern Europe back Ukraine’s Victory Plan – Zelensky

Zelensky emphasized that all partners supported Ukraine's Victory Plan, which contains clear steps to achieve a just peace.

"All Nordic partners supported Ukraine's Victory Plan — clear points that strengthen our ability to bring a just peace closer. And I am grateful for the willingness to work with other partners, to convince them that determination can change history for the better," Zelensky emphasized.

The presidents also discussed the importance of geopolitical certainty for Ukraine, including an invitation to NATO. They reached a joint conclusion on the need to strengthen sanctions against Russia, particularly limiting the use of the shadow tanker fleet to finance aggression.

Zelensky emphasized that the Nordic countries' support in this matter should be strengthened by all partners in the European Union and the G7, noting that Putin's shadow tanker fleet is a global threat that requires decisive action to overcome.

On October 28, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Iceland for the first time on a working visit. As the head of state confirmed, he would participate in the fourth Ukraine-Northern Europe summit, where he planned to hold bilateral negotiations with the prime ministers of Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden.

On this day, the summit of the countries of Northern Europe began in the capital of Iceland. In addition to the President of Ukraine, almost 90 people, including prime ministers, foreign ministers, members of parliament, and guests, participated in it.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky began his first visit to Iceland by meeting with the country's Prime Minister, Bjarni Benediktsson.

In addition, the head of state met with the Prime Ministers of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, and Finland, Petteri Orpo.

According to the meeting results, Norway promised to provide Ukraine with EUR 500 million in aid, of which EUR 350 million will be used for military support. Sweden intends to allocate financial support in the amount of 63 million euros, of which 20 million euros will be directed to the development of Ukrainian industry.
