Solutions from Ukraine: new inclusive space for veterans opens in Irpin, Kyiv region
A unique inclusive space called VETERAN SPACE. IRPIN has been opened in Irpin for veterans, their families, and families of fallen heroes. This is the third hub of its kind to open in the Kyiv region.
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko, reported that.
What is the problem?
"The task of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is to provide maximum support to veterans. Today, there are more than 80,000 veterans and family members of the deceased in the region, and we are working to ensure that each of them receives the necessary assistance," he said.
What is the solution?
VETERAN SPACE. IRPIN is a joint project of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Irpin City Council, and the Veteran. Pro platform of the Department of Veterans Affairs. It was implemented at the expense of patrons. In particular, representatives of the Irpin business renovated and furnished the premises.
Furthermore, the city covered the cost of installing a stair lift and purchasing the necessary furniture.
"Veterans must go through a difficult path of adaptation to civilian life. And we have to make it as comfortable as possible, without bureaucracy, with concrete, effective, and operational solutions, no matter what issue it concerns," the head of the regional military administration noted.
How does it work?
According to Kravchenko, each veteran's hub is the only space where Ukrainian defenders and their families can receive comprehensive assistance:
- psychological,
- legal,
- rehabilitation and socialization,
- support of business projects.
Kravchenko noted that the first two spaces for veterans had opened in Brovary and Boryspil at the end of August this year. Currently, 574 veterans or their relatives have already submitted applications with specific requests.
"I set a task for everyone – to solve every issue of the defenders and their families. We will constantly expand the list of services we provide in hubs. Because we have to respond to all, without exception, the needs of defenders and their families," he added.
The head of the regional military administration announced the opening of such a hub in Bila Tserkva.
"In the future, we aspire to have such veteran spaces in every city of the Kyiv region," concluded Kravchenko.
