Russians attack Ukraine with 80 drones from three directions: details about the work of air defense
Russian troops launched 80 drones from three directions at night over Ukraine. Air defense shot down half of the UAV.
Rubryka refers to the Telegram of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"On the night of October 27, the enemy attacked with 80 attack UAVs of the Shahed type and unmanned aerial vehicles of an unknown type from the directions of Orel, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk," the message says.
How did air defense work?
Anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine repulsed the air attack.
""As of 09:30, the downing of 41 enemy UAVs has been confirmed," the military stated.
In addition, air defense forces destroyed 32 Russian drones on-site; one drone flew toward Belarus.
The Air defense worked in the Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kyiv, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernihiv regions. Most of the enemy UAVs were shot down in these regions.
The Sumy regional military administration said Russians hit the energy facilities of the critical infrastructure of the Romen district with Shahed drones. Essential services are on-site, assessing the consequences of the attack.
Air defense forces neutralized ten Russian drones on the outskirts of Kyiv. There are victims, Kyiv Regional Military Administration says.
For reference:
Nearly half of the Russian citizens, 47%, believe the large-scale invasion of Ukraine caused more harm than benefit. This is the highest recorded percentage since the full-scale war against Ukraine began.
The current theory of victory Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has for Ukraine is a prolonged war. This theory proposes Russian forces can withstand Western aid for Ukraine and eventually wear down its resistance, ultimately winning a war of attrition.
