During a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin declared that a military aid package worth $400 million would be provided to Ukraine.

Ukrinform reported that.

"Under the leadership of Joe Biden, the United States continues to increase support for [Ukraine – ed.]. Today, I want to announce the allocation of a $400 million presidential aid package for ammunition, military equipment, and weapons for Ukraine," Austin said.

According to him, the USA perfectly understands the consequences of Putin's war for Ukraine and the whole world.

"That is why I would like to once again convene the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (in the Ramstein format). We work in a coalition of more than 50 countries to provide security assistance to Ukraine so that Ukraine wins," the head of the Pentagon said.

He also assured that the USA will continue to help Ukraine.

"We will continue to assist per the bilateral security agreement you signed with President Biden. Therefore, I am happy to discuss further strengthening our strategic partnership with you," the US Secretary of Defense said during the meeting with Zelensky.

For reference:

As reported, US Defense Minister Lloyd Austin made an unannounced visit to Kyiv on October 21.

Washington allocated a previous package for Ukraine last week. In particular, $425 million in aid would strengthen air defenses and provide the military with missiles and ammunition.

As President Zelensky explained, the United States would provide Ukraine with aid packages worth hundreds of millions of dollars once every two or three weeks. Thanks to this, Kyiv hopes to strengthen the army during October-December.
