Russia attacks Ukraine with UAVs, guided aerial bombs and ballistic missiles, multiple casualties reported across country
On the evening of October 20, the enemy launched a series of attack drones, UAVs, and ballistic missiles on Ukrainian territory. Twelve people were injured in Kharkiv, and a civilian infrastructure object in Kryvyi Rih was damaged due to a ballistic strike by Russian forces. Additionally, in Kyiv, one person was injured from a drone attack. As a result of the attacks, there is currently a power outage in the Sumy region.

Kyiv
At 0:07 a.m., an air alert was declared in Kyiv. As a result, the capital experienced a series of explosions, likely caused by the efforts of air defense forces to repel the attack. These explosions continued to occur throughout the night.
The head of Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko, reported that approximately ten Russian unmanned aerial vehicles were detected flying towards the capital from multiple directions. Fortunately, the Defense Forces were able to take down all the drones posing a threat to the city.
In particular, falling debris was recorded in the city's Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts.
According to initial reports, an electric cable was damaged in the Dniprovsky district, but there is currently no information regarding any victims.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a multi-unit residential building has partially damaged its wall decorations and broken windows. Fortunately, there were no significant incidents, such as destruction or fires, and no casualties were reported.
In the Solomianskyi district, some falling debris sparked a fire on the roof of a single-story house. The fire has been contained. No information has been released on any possible injuries.
Furthermore, due to the attack in the Solomianskyi district, a man suffered injuries resulting in burns on his face, according to medical professionals. However, the victim declined to be hospitalized.
The air raid alert ended at 5:13 a.m., meaning it lasted over 5 hours in Kyiv.
Kharkiv
At 10:10 p.m., Kharkiv's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, reported that the city had experienced explosions due to an attack of guided aerial bombs.
He mentioned that three areas of the city were under attack. Some of them have issues with the electricity supply.
According to Oleh Synehubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, specialized emergency services were dispatched to the locations in Kharkiv where the enemy had attacked. He later clarified that two individuals were injured due to the Russian Federation's strike.
As of 10:30 p.m., there are now four victims. The mayor provided preliminary information that a strike occurred near a residential building in the Osnovianskyi district of the city.
"There was another strike in the Kyivskyi district near one of the supermarkets, where a gas station was damaged. We are still waiting for confirmation," Terekhov added.
Service stations, private houses, and high-voltage transmission lines were also affected in the Kyivskyi district.
At 11:00 p.m., the number of victims rose to 9.
The National Police clarified that four women, aged 22 to 53, and five men, aged 21 to 37, were among those injured.

"Due to enemy strikes, there is no electricity in parts of the city; apartment buildings, garages, gas stations, private homes, and cars have been damaged," law enforcement officers added.
At 03:00 a.m., the National Police reported 12 victims.
"According to initial data, the Russian military used KAB-250 guided air bombs from the Unified Gliding and Correction module to strike Kharkiv," the message reads.
Kryvyi Rih
On the evening of October 20, Russian soldiers launched a ballistic missile attack on Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to preliminary information, a man was injured due to the attack. He received all necessary medical assistance.
Vilkul remarked that the Russians had launched ballistic missiles at the city and cautioned about the potential for further strikes.
He says that the Russians targeted the area with tall residential buildings, causing significant destruction.
All relevant services are on-site.
As a result, the number of victims grew. Reports indicated that a 12-year-old girl sustained injuries. Fortunately, she is in stable condition and will receive treatment at home.
Among the victims are also a 22-year-old man and women, aged 36 and 63. They all received the necessary medical assistance.
A hotel, five high-rise buildings, a cultural facility, a bank, two shops, and 14 cars were damaged.
Lysak also added that at night, the aggressor shelled the Nikopol district with heavy artillery and hit Marhanets.
There are no casualties among the civilian population.
Sumy region
On Monday night, the Russian invaders carried out an airstrike on critical infrastructure in the Romen district of the Sumy region.
Due to the enemy attack, electricity was cut off in several settlements. Emergency and rescue services are currently working to address the situation. The regional military administration has reported that the electricity supply is in the process of being restored.

Moreover, on October 20, a 62-year-old man was killed as a result of the Russian shelling of the Shalyhin community of the Shostka district of the Sumy region.
It's important to mention that on the night of October 20, the city of Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region was struck by rockets. As a result, the city's infrastructure was damaged, and the number of victims rose to 17 by morning.
It should be noted that on the night of October 20, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with ballistic missiles and 49 drones. As of 10:00 a.m., air defense forces managed to shoot down 31 UAVs in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Odesa, Sumy, Poltava, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions.
