Zelensky presents Victory Plan and holds two-hour meeting in parliament
On October 16, following his presentation of the Victory Plan to the Verkhovna Rada, President Volodymyr Zelensky had a two-hour meeting with members of parliament.
RBC-Ukraine reported this, referring to the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
"One of the components of the victory plan was presented at the Ukrainian parliament. Following that, the president held a meeting with the parliament's leadership and the leaders of all factions and groups. For approximately 2 hours, we extensively discussed the meaning of unity and addressed all inquiries. Everyone from the faction and group representatives had the chance to ask the president of Ukraine questions. The meeting concluded with three important conclusions," Stefanchuk said.
As the speaker stressed, the main points are as follows:
- the Victory Plan has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada,
- the parliament will be responsible for carrying out the plan,
- The Verkhovna Rada is currently working on a comprehensive vision for integrating the Ukrainian parliament and political forces into implementing the plan.
Stefanchuk said that the Verkhovna Rada will prepare a package of documents necessary for implementing the plan's points.
In addition, the Ukrainian parliament will develop a plan for diplomatic interaction. The priority will be the US Congress, the European Parliament, and the parliaments of the "Big Seven."
"That is, it is a comprehensive approach proposed by the parliament today. And together, unanimously, all leaders of factions and groups supported all these positions at the meeting with the president of Ukraine," the speaker added.
In his turn, the leader of the "Servant of the People" faction, Davyd Arakhamiia, noted that at the parliamentary meeting, everyone supported the plan for the victory of Ukraine.
"This once again confirms that the Victory Plan is an absolutely realistic document that unites society in the issues of our struggle and our future," Arakhamiia added.
It should be added that on October 16, President Zelensky presented a victory plan to Ukraine's parliament.
According to the president, the initial aspect is geopolitical, while the following two pertain to military affairs. The fourth point centers around the economy, and the fifth point of the plan deals with security.
Zelensky mentioned that the points have a specified timeline. The president clarified that the first four points are geared towards ending the war. The fifth point is focused on ensuring security during the post-war period.
The president mentioned several important points:
1. Inviting Ukraine to join NATO
2. Defense
3. Deterrence
4. Strategic economic potential
5. Post-war issues.
The defense point of the plan has a secret application. Only those partners who have the appropriate military potential for assistance have access to it. The leaders of the USA, Great Britain, France, Italy, and Germany have already received it.
