During the night of October 16, the Russian invaders launched an attack on multiple regions of Ukraine using a combination of 136 attack drones, ballistic missiles, and aircraft missiles. Luckily, Ukrainian air defense forces were able to successfully shoot down 51 of the enemy drones, while an additional 60 were lost in location.
The Air Forces of Ukraine's armed forces reported that.

- 136 strike UAVs from launch areas in Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian army emphasized that the following were involved in repelling a massive enemy attack:
- Aviation,
- anti-aircraft missile units,
- mobile fire groups,
- EW.
"As of 07.00, as a result of anti-aircraft combat, 51 enemy UAVs were shot down in the Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions," the airmen said.
Furthermore, it has been reported that due to the effective measures taken by EW, a total of 60 Russian drones have been lost, and their specific location in multiple regions of Ukraine is currently being gathered and verified.
"More than 20 UAVs are in the airspace of Ukraine. Combat work continues," the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces added.
Furthermore, two hostile drones reversed course towards the Russian Federation.
"We want to stress once again the importance of not taking any action if you encounter any suspicious objects that appear to be drones. It is crucial that you urgently report any potentially dangerous discovery to the police, State Emergency Service, or your local military authority," the military urged.
