Russian forces neglect winter preparation at front, aiming to achieve their goals before frost – Ukraine's armed forces

The Russian troops on the front are not getting ready for winter, as they are focused on achieving their objectives before the arrival of frost.

RBC-Ukraine reported this on the air of the telethon, referring to Anastasiia Bobovnikova, the spokeswoman of the operational-tactical group "Luhansk."

"According to our intelligence, the enemy is not preparing for winter. They are trying to make the most of the dry weather currently in Donetsk region," she said.

As Bobovnikova noted, the Russian invaders use artillery, FPV drones, and other means of destruction to achieve some goals before the frost.

At the same time, the spokeswoman emphasized that Ukrainian troops, unlike the enemy, are preparing for the coming winter. Therefore, it will be much more difficult for Russian invaders to storm Ukrainian positions with the arrival of frost.

For reference:

As reported by the General Staff yesterday, October 14, the situation at the front remained challenging. With their superior numbers and weaponry, the enemy continued attacking Ukrainian positions without pause. The most intense clashes occurred on the Pokrovsk, Kupiansk, Lyman, and Kurakhiv fronts, with 198 combat confrontations.

Also, on October 10 and 11, 2024, Russian troops intensified offensive operations in the Kursk region, seeking to dislodge Ukrainian forces before worsening weather conditions. The Russian command is trying to achieve this goal by preparing forces for priority offensive operations in the Donetsk region.

Furthermore, the paratroopers of the Tavria unit successfully fended off another large-scale enemy attack. The Russian aggressors launched an assault with backup from 30 armored vehicles.

For their part, ISW analysts point out that Russian troops' active advance in the Donetsk region is due to the area's topography and the insufficient staffing of Ukraine's armed forces brigades.

However, this resulted in significant casualties for the Russian invaders. The Russian Federation's troops at the front continued to employ "cannon fodder" tactics, resulting in one soldier lost for every 2.5 square meters.
