North Korean troops flee from positions on border with Bryansk and Kursk regions – intelligence

18 North Korean servicemen have already escaped from positions on Ukraine's border with the Bryansk and Kursk regions of Russia.

Suspilne reports this, referring to the intelligence sources.

It should be mentioned that this occurred 7 kilometers from Ukraine's state border. The reasons for the soldiers from the DPRK fleeing have yet to be determined, and the Russian military has initiated a search.

"At the same time, the Russian invaders are trying to hide this information from their higher command," an intelligence source said.

It's worth mentioning that the mass media previously reported on forming a "special Buryat battalion," allegedly comprised of individuals from North Korea, within the 11th Separate Assault Brigade of the Russian occupation forces.

"It is noted that the estimated number of personnel is up to 3,000 people. The process of providing the battalion with small arms and ammunition is underway. The battalion may likely be involved in combat missions near the settlement of Sudzha and the city of Kursk in the Russian Federation," the media report says.

ISW analysts, with reference to The Washington Post, reported that soldiers from the DPRK are already fighting in Ukraine, several thousand North Korean soldiers are undergoing training in Russia, and probably in the future, they may be transferred to the front line.

Previously, ISW experts reported that in July of this year, North Korea was supposed to send military construction and engineering forces to participate in "restoration works" in the occupied Donetsk region.

In addition, North Korea sent a delegation of its elite military to the Russian Federation. This was the first visit of North Korean soldiers to Russia after the cooperation agreement between Moscow and Pyongyang.

It should be added that on June 19 of this year, the dictator of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, signed an agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership. It provides mutual military assistance in case of aggression against Pyongyang or Moscow.
