Solutions from Ukraine: Enjoying Life Charity Foundation launches third round of training to support jobseekers over 50

The Enjoying Life Charity Foundation is launching the third stream of training at the "Trudoliub Academy" ["Labor Lovers Academy" in Ukrainian – ed.] to give people 50+ equal opportunities in the labor market alongside younger job seekers.

The Enjoying Life Charity Foundation reported that.

What is the problem?

For six years, the "Trudoliub" project, a complex and separate activity direction of the Enjoying Life Charity Foundation, has provided systematic assistance to older Ukrainians in employment, learning new specialties, and socialization.

This year, there was a severe shortage of personnel in the country due to many young professionals joining the military and some women going abroad. This was evident with over 250 companies participating in the fund's program to recruit workers from the "Trudoliub."

The Enjoying Life Charity Foundation is set to launch the third session of the free career intensive, "Trudoliub Academy," on October 16. This program aims to assist individuals aged 50 and above to find new job opportunities or transition into a different career.

This is essential support for adult job seekers, the Ukrainian economy, and businesses seeking employees.

How does it work?

During the training, "labor lovers" will acquire knowledge about:

  • the current state of the job market,
  • strategies for overcoming apprehensions and misconceptions about job searching as an older adult,
  • available job search platforms,
  • effective techniques for promoting oneself in resumes and interviews,
  • ways to transition into a different profession and embark on a new career in later years.

The "Trudoliub Academy" training program will be held in person in Kyiv for two months. Classes will be conducted once a week, totaling eight sessions. Each session will focus on a different topic and feature a different speaker. Participants will also be assigned homework assignments, which experts will evaluate.

  • Yevhen Samarenko, leading specialist in training personnel of the sales department of Coca-Cola HBC

  • Olha Homeniuk, trainer, teacher of financial literacy
  • Yurii Velikdus, psychologist
  • Nataliia Kuibida, marketer, brand strategist, personal brand consultant
  • Mariia Shevchenko, fashion marketer

For "labor lovers," personalized career and psychological counseling and assistance with resume drafting from seasoned HR professionals are available. Additionally, participants will have access to mentoring support from the leader of the "Trudoliub" project throughout the course.

All "Trudoliub Academy" participants will have a professional photo taken during their training, which they can use on their CV or LinkedIn to help them find a job.

After passing the Intensive, the Academy's students will be invited to the Graduation Party and receive diplomas.

  • Who is eligible to attend training at the "Trudoliub Academy": individuals over 50 seeking employment or transitioning to a new career path with the uncertainty of where to begin.
