Drones attack Russian ammunition warehouse in Bryansk region, 47 UAVs reportedly shot down

On the night of October 9, explosions rang out in Karachev, Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. Unidentified drones have probably successfully targeted the warehouse of the main missile and artillery department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The arsenal is located next to a city with a population of 20,000. According to the media, satellite images from 2021 show that part of the ammunition in this warehouse, which has a total area of ​​about 3.5 square kilometers, was stored in the open air.

According to the official, the attack continued in several waves. Bogomaz said that a total of 12 drones were allegedly shot down over the region. He also reported that no one was injured as a result of the drone attack, and the infrastructure was not destroyed.

Meanwhile, Telegram channels in the area are sharing videos showing the aftermath of the drone strike. According to reports, the attack targeted a weapons storage facility in the village of Karachev. The videos being widely circulated capture the explosions from the detonation of the ammunition. It has been reported that 67 warehouses belonging to the main missile and artillery department of the Russian Ministry of Defense were impacted.

Already in the morning, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that it allegedly prevented attempts by the "Kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using aircraft-type UAVs."

According to the representative of the Russian ministry of defense, regular air defense forces and means intercepted and destroyed 47 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles:

  • 24 UAVs were shot down over the territory of the Bryansk region,
  • 5 UAVs were destroyed over the territory of the Belgorod region,
  • 2 UAVs each in the Kursk and Rostov regions,
  • one in the Krasnodar region,
  • and 13 above the waters of the Sea of ​​Azov.

It should be noted that in Feodosia, which is located in temporarily occupied Crimea, Russian invaders are still working to extinguish a fire at a port oil filling station that was attacked by Ukrainian defense forces on the night of October 7. Over a thousand individuals have already been evacuated.

In recent months, drone attacks on military infrastructure, oil refineries, and oil depots have been constantly occurring in Russia.

So, on the night of October 3, the attack UAVs hit the airfield "Borysoglebsk" in the Voronezh region. Guided aerial bombs are stored at the airport, and Su-35 and Su-34 aircraft are parked. Fires broke out in several areas of the airfield.

At the end of September, Ukraine's armed forces attacked the Kotluban military arsenal in the Volgograd region. Shortly before the attack, a batch of Iranian missiles arrived at the warehouse.

On the evening of September 21, in the Krasnodar region of Russia, close to Tikhoretsk, unidentified drones launched an attack on the 719th artillery ammunition depot. It was at this location that the Russians were transporting shells from North Korea.
