Great Britain has dedicated 3.5 billion pounds (equivalent to nearly 4.5 billion dollars) to Ukraine to acquire cutting-edge military equipment manufactured by British companies.

The government of Great Britain reported that on its website.

It should be mentioned that the country's trade delegation, consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Defense, the Department of Business and Trade, and the Defense Association ADS, recently traveled to Ukraine to discuss potential collaborations with government and industry leaders. The Minister of the Armed Forces, Luke Pollard, led the delegation.

This mission upholds the agreement signed in July 2024, granting Ukraine the ability to allocate 3.5 billion pounds (equivalent to 4.5 billion dollars) toward acquiring advanced military equipment from British producers.

Pollard said that Britain constantly supports Ukraine by providing military equipment and developing cooperation with the Ukrainian defense industry. This helps attract investment and strengthen the capabilities of both states.

"We continue to lead the way in military assistance, but our support is broader than just providing equipment. Our relationship in the defense industry represents the work of the government and the private sector to increase and accelerate our support. Deepening our ties with the defense industry of Ukraine, we are expanding our industrial capacity while simultaneously increasing the capabilities of Ukraine," he said.

It should be noted that the British Ministry of Defense has already finalized several significant contracts with British companies. Specifically, they have agreed with Thales to provide air defense missiles and Sheffield Forgemasters to manufacture barrel forgings for artillery installations.

"Future orders are in the preparation stage and will be financed by Ukraine using its reserves and 3.5 billion pounds of export financing from the United Kingdom," the message reads.

For reference:

Great Britain is one of Ukraine's most steadfast and proactive allies in the battle against Russian aggression.

Since the first months of the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, Ukraine's armed forces soldiers have been participating in a variety of training programs in Britain. A unique training facility has been built specifically for this purpose to provide the military with the most effective training possible. This facility is equipped and designed to allow troops to gain valuable experience conducting combat operations in urban environments.

The British Ministry of Defense equipped 30,000 service members of Ukraine's armed forces, who received training in Britain, with the necessary equipment for the front line.

It should be noted that despite the efforts of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to remove restrictions on the use of Storm Shadow missiles, London's position remains unchanged. The government of Great Britain did not give its permission for the use of these munitions by Ukraine's armed forces to strike the Kursk region.
