Solutions to win: Ukraine's government to pilot experimental program certifying UAV operator schools
The government and all state institutions must ensure that Ukrainian defenders have all the necessary resources for their combat missions, treatment, recovery, and transition from military to civilian life. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized this during the government meeting on October 1.
This is reported on the Government portal.
Shmyhal mentioned that security and defense are the top priorities in the state budget. For the following year, 2.2 trillion UAH has been allocated for this, amounting to 26% of GDP.
"Another direction of support for our army is the increase in the number of weapons and equipment that the defenders of Ukraine have. Every day, we work with partners to increase the supply of weapons and strengthen the development of our defense and industrial complex. In 2023, the production of weapons in Ukraine tripled.
Every second piece of ammunition in the combat zone is Ukrainian," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.
The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine will produce 1.5 million drones by the end of the year. At the same time, the state produces drones and trains personnel to manage them.
"Today, the government is launching an experimental project on the certification of schools of UAV operators. We set clear requirements for these schools and unify the educational process. It will be easier for trained drone operators to obtain the appropriate military accounting specialty," the head of the government noted.
In addition, Ukraine continues implementing its own missile program and produces significant volumes of artillery systems and armored vehicles. Joint production with partners is being established, and partners' funds are being raised for the purchase of Ukrainian weapons for Ukraine.
According to the Prime Minister, another important aspect is the eradication of bureaucratic red tape thanks to digitalization. The "Army+" and "Reserve+" applications are already operational, and "Veteran+" will soon be operational.
"At the same time, we are implementing a new veteran policy. These are new services and digital services for veterans, maximum simplification of procedures. This is the support of veteran businesses and the creation of conditions for learning new professions with subsequent employment. This is treatment and rehabilitation. Bet on modern rehabilitation centers that will work according to the best global standards. This is a tribute to the feat of the Ukrainian military," Denys Shmyhal said.
The Prime Minister thanked everyone who is currently at the front and who provides the army in the rear, as well as the soldiers who are holding their positions and destroying Ukraine's enemies.
For reference:
Previously, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov declared that Ukraine had become the first nation to implement the "swarm of drones" technology. In the past year, Ukraine successfully destroyed or damaged over 200 targets in Russia.
Umerov also pointed out that Ukraine aims to manufacture millions of drones by 2025 to stay ahead of Russia in this regard.
