Russian schoolchildren torch military helicopter in Omsk

In Omsk, Russian Federation, two schoolchildren set fire to a Mi-8 helicopter on the territory of a military unit. The boys were allegedly promised a monetary reward of $20,000 for this.

As one of the teenagers told during the detention, an unknown person, with whom the boys contacted via the Internet, offered them money for arson.

The students accepted the idea and proceeded to sneak into the military facility, setting fire to the equipment.

However, after committing the crime, they did not actually receive the promised funds and were quickly apprehended by Russian law enforcement officers.

It's important to mention that on the night of September 11, in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of Russia, two schoolchildren, one of whom is the child of a soldier who fought in the war against Ukraine, set a Mi–8 helicopter on fire. They snuck onto the airport grounds in Noyabrsk, where the aircraft was stationed, and began the blaze.

Last January, a 16-year-old individual from Dagestan was apprehended in Chelyabinsk, Russia, for allegedly attempting to ignite a Su-34 bomber aircraft at the Shagol air base.

As a result of the attack of the Ukrainian Defense Forces last October on the airfields near occupied Berdiansk and Luhansk, the Russian invaders suffered significant losses: nine helicopters of various modifications, an ammunition depot, and an air defense installation were destroyed.
