United to win: Zelensky visits US military factory producing shells for Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky started his trip to the United States by touring the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Pennsylvania. The plant manufactures components for artillery and mortar shells and plans to ramp up production of 155-mm shells for Ukraine.
Zelensky reported that on Twitter (X).
"A factory that produces artillery shells. 155th caliber. Now – for our soldiers who protect not only our state, not only Ukraine. The factory will increase production," he wrote.
According to the report, the plant is currently operating at maximum capacity to meet Ukraine's production demands, specifically for 155 mm projectiles, which have significantly increased over the past year.

The head of state familiarized himself with the production process and spoke with the company's leaders and employees.
At the meeting, the president discussed the conditions on the battlefield and stressed the importance of Ukraine receiving continuous and timely delivery of the promised defense support packages.
"It is an honor for us to start our visit to the United States of America precisely from Scranton, this plant, and Pennsylvania. We are delighted to have such partners. Of course, we understand that the United States has helped us from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion. And we count on further support. Thank you to President Biden, the US Congress, and all the workers of such factories," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
One of the main topics under discussion is the significance of initiating shared weapons production within Ukraine's borders and exploring the potential for American investments in the country's defense sector.

The president also mentioned that production has already been increased multiple times at this factory and at other American factories and will continue to expand in the future.
"400 people work here. I really wanted to come here and thank you. 400 people saved millions of Ukrainians. On behalf of myself and all our people, I want to extend a sincere thank you. Your assistance has been crucial in our resistance against Putin's invasion," the head of state said, addressing the factory workers.

According to the president, it is at such enterprises that "it is felt that the democratic world can really win."
"Thanks to precisely such people in Ukraine, in America, in all partner countries, who work to ensure that life is protected," Zelensky's publication reads.
