Russian aerial bombing leaves 16 wounded, including a child, in Zaporizhzhia

Thirteen people have already been reported as wounded in the late evening of September 22 in Zaporizhzhia due to a Russian attack using guided aerial bombs, according to preliminary data. Among those injured is a child.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES) and the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that.

Around 11:04 p.m., there were explosions in the Zaporizhzhia area. Ukraine's armed forces Air Force advised residents to seek shelter in response to the possibility of an enemy attack using guided aerial bombs.

The military documented the enemy's launch of guided aerial bombs towards Zaporizhzhia at approximately 10:37 p.m.

Before that, the Air Force reported on the enemy's tactical aviation movement in the southeast direction and the Russian invaders' potential use of air weapons.

The leader of the local military administration and the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region reported that the invaders had used targeted aerial bombs for their attacks, according to the preliminary data. They launched six strikes between 10:19 p.m. and 11:04 p.m. on both Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding area.

It's worth mentioning that the night before, there were reports of nine injured individuals in Zaporizhzhia.

Rescuers helped evacuate residents from the damaged apartment buildings and unblocked one woman from her own apartment.

According to the State Emergency Service, the glazing and facades of several apartment and building structures sustained damage. Fortunately, firefighters could contain the fire, which affected a vehicle and a balcony spanning a combined area of 10 square meters.

The emergency workers' publication reads, "Emergency work was carried out to dismantle the destroyed structures of the entrance to the apartments. "

The State Emergency Service reported that 47 rescuers and ten pieces of equipment were involved in dealing with the aftermath of the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia.

"Policemen, explosives technicians, volunteers of the Rapid Response Unit of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, and other specialized services of the city worked on the ground," emergency workers said.

This morning, the leader of the regional military administration announced that the casualties from the recent Russian shelling in Zaporizhzhia have risen to 13.

The official stated that included in the victims were:

  • Seven women;
  • Five men;
  • A fifteen-year-old boy.

Furthermore, the monitoring teams raised awareness of this being the Russians' first known instance of utilizing guided aerial bombs in attacks on Zaporizhzhia.

UPD! Later, Ivan Fedorov reported that 16 people were injured, four of them were hospitalized:

"16 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack on the center of Zaporozhye. Four of them are hospitalized. This is the updated information at this time. Four women are in a moderate condition in the hospital. Other victims are being treated at home."

Russia's attack damaged the following:

  • 13 high-rise buildings,
  • educational institutions,
  • private property cars,
  • garages and private houses.

27 residents of the city were rescued. 20 people were blocked in their own homes. Everyone was evacuated from the apartments.

Currently, rescuers, communal services and volunteers continue to work at the sites of the hits. Expanded points of invincibility, where everyone who needs can get information and help.

Overall, throughout the day, the occupiers launched 363 attacks on 12 towns in the Zaporizhzhia region. Russian military forces conducted nine aerial assaults on Zaporizhzhia, Komyshuvas, Zarichny, Kamiansky, and Pyatykhatky.

209 different types of unmanned aerial vehicles carried out attacks on Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Levadne, and Malynivka.

Four MLRS attacks hit Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Novodarivka, and Robotyne.

A total of 146 artillery shells were launched onto the territories of Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, and Levadne.

95 reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.

The region, including the city of Zaporizhzhia, is frequently targeted by enemy airstrikes. The Russian occupiers have been launching shells toward Zaporizhzhia from a distance of 60 kilometers, resulting in rockets reaching the city in just 30-40 seconds.

For example, as a result of a Russian ballistic missile attack on Zaporozhzhia on the evening of September 2, two people were killed, including a child. There were also two wounded.

Earlier, it was also reported that Zaporizhzhia was subjected to rocket attacks on August 27. Then, the enemy hit the city with ballistics from the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
