Biden instructed to "move heaven and earth" for sake of helping Ukraine — White House
US President Joe Biden has directed efforts to "move heaven and earth" to ensure Ukraine receives all necessary assistance. He is determined to support the country until the end of his presidency.
This was reported by Rubryka, citing an interview with Michael Carpenter, Director for Europe at the US National Security Council, given to Voice of America.
According to Carpenter, the White House is unsure how Biden will respond to the "victory plan" that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is expected to present next week.
"President Biden is absolutely committed to supporting Ukraine and positioning it as strongly as possible by the end of his term. He has instructed all of us working for him to move heaven and earth to ensure we provide everything, particularly military aid," Carpenter stated.
He added that the assistance also includes support for energy security, which was part of the supplemental funding bill approved in April.
As for permitting Ukraine to carry out long-range strikes deep into Russian territory, Carpenter hinted this might become a topic of discussion.
"However, I don't have any updates today," he added.
Carpenter mentioned that active discussions are currently taking place on this issue, saying, "We firmly believe Ukraine needs long-range capabilities."
It's also worth noting that President Zelensky will travel to the United States next week for several important meetings and events, where he plans to present his "victory plan" to President Biden and presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
Additionally, the White House is preparing a $375 million military aid package for Ukraine, which is expected to be announced next week.
