Russia has committed at least 137,000 war crimes against Ukraine and Ukrainians – Zelensky

As of today, there have been approximately 137,000 war crimes committed by Russia, according to statements made by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, at the "United for Justice" conference.

During his speech, the leader specifically mentioned the terrorist attack in Olenivka, the mass killings of Mariupol and Bucha residents, and the mistreatment of Ukrainians in Yahidne village.

"Probably, there is no country where one would not hear about what the occupier did on our land and against our people. And it should be so that every country knows the occupier will be responsible for all this because justice has no borders. It should be valued equally everywhere – Europe, America, Asia, Africa, Australia," the president said.

Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that numerous international agreements and over a hundred nations have approved the Rome Statute, which must be effective.

"But recently, an exception was found in Mongolia for Putin. And this is not just someone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of the whole world to stop the degradation of the legal system and prevent the destruction of those norms that remain. The legal system should and must work in such a way that the Rome Statute, and in particular the warrant of the International Criminal Court, which was issued against the main Russian criminal, really limited him and already ensured his isolation," the head of state stressed.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the G20 summit will take place in Brazil in a few months. Ukraine received a signal from Brazilian authorities regarding their intentions to invite the Russian dictator. If this were to occur, it would signify another disregard for the Rome Statute.

Volodymyr Zelensky urged the global community to unite in pursuit of justice and hold the aggressor state and its political and military leaders accountable for their actions.
