Sweden to invest over €40 mln in energy equipment procurement for Ukraine
The Energy Minister, Herman Halushchenko, met with the Swedish Ambassador, Martin Åberg, to discuss preparing the energy system for winter and Ukraine's pressing need for extra equipment.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported that.
"We are working on increasing distributed generation capacity and backup power for critical infrastructure facilities. We highly appreciate the decision of the Government of Sweden to allocate more than 40 million euros for the purchase of equipment that will improve the situation with energy supply in regions subject to constant enemy shelling," Herman Halushchenko noted.
The parties thoroughly discussed the equipment purchasing process, its delivery to Ukraine, and installation preparations to expedite these procedures.
Martin Åberg highly praised the work of Ukrainian energy workers who, despite massive attacks, continue to restore the energy supply and provide light to Ukrainians' homes.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to strengthening the protection of energy facilities and the measures taken to ensure their safety.

It is worth mentioning that the Swedish government has announced a new military aid package to Ukraine, totaling SEK 4.6 billion (equivalent to approximately EUR 400 million).
This package is designed to meet Ukraine's most pressing military needs and provide opportunities for future actions and provisions.
