US and UK leaders to hold talks on Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities

US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will hold a meeting where they can discuss the issue of allowing Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range weapons.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken reported that.

Blinken and British Foreign Minister David Lammy will visit Kyiv together this week. Blinken says the trip's purpose is to directly engage with the Ukrainian leadership, understand their current needs, and explore potential collaborations in the upcoming weeks and months.

Following that, Blinken and Lammy will report to the leaders of their respective countries. On September 13, Biden and Starmer are scheduled to meet, during which, according to the Secretary of State, they will discuss this matter.

It's important to mention that Britain, France, and the USA supply Ukraine with long-range missiles and prohibit their use for targeting Russia. President Zelensky has requested the removal of these restrictions for strikes on Russian airfields, but Ukraine's Western allies have yet to approve. As a result, Ukraine is unable to eliminate the bombers responsible for attacking civilians in cities.

Zelensky said that Ukraine needs permission to use long-range weapons against military facilities on the territory of Russia from four countries – the United States, Great Britain, France, and Germany.
