Ukraine takes seventh place with 82 medals at 2024 Paralympic Games

The Ukrainian national team finished its participation at the XVII Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, France. This is the fourth-best result in Ukraine's Paralympic history based on the number of medals won.

On Sunday, September 8, the Ukrainian national team finished competing at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
In just 11 days of competition in the city of Paris, Ukrainian Paralympians won a total of 82 medals, including:
- 22 gold,
- 28 silver,
- and 32 bronze.
The Ukrainian team's performance earned them a seventh-place ranking in the medal count and fifth in the total number of awards received.
In terms of medal count, this is the fourth-best performance in Ukraine's Paralympic history.
China dominated the Paralympics 2024 medal count with a significant lead. Chinese competitors claimed a total of 220 medals, including 94 golds. Great Britain ranked second overall, while the USA took third place.

It's worth noting that Ukrainian athletes dominated at the 2021 Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, earning a total of 98 medals – 24 gold, 47 silver, and 27 bronze. This impressive performance ranked Ukraine sixth overall in medal standings and fifth in the number of awards received.
It should be noted that Ukrainian Paralympians continue to impress with their achievements at the Games in Paris. On the eighth day of the competition, they won as many as nine medals, including two gold, two silver, and five bronze.
Also, on the last day of the 2024 Paralympics in Paris, Ukrainian athletes won two medals in kayaking and canoeing. Ukrainian Vladyslav Yepifanov became the champion.
