United to win: Britain to supply Ukraine with $210 mln worth of Martlet missiles

Great Britain plans to provide Ukraine with 650 Martlet missiles, valued at 210 million dollars, to enhance its air defense capabilities.

The new government has pledged to provide 162 million pounds (equivalent to over $207 million, according to the Ministry of Finance) in aid to Ukraine.

It is anticipated that the announcement regarding the provision of this aid package will be made today, September 6, during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in the Ramstein format. The British Defense Minister John Healey will announce the delivery of these missiles.

The British government indicates that the first batch of such missiles will arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year.

"In recent days, we have witnessed the tragic cost of Russia's indiscriminate strikes on Poltava and Lviv. These new British-made missiles will help Ukraine protect its people, infrastructure, and territory from Putin's brutal attacks. Today, together with our international partners, we will show that we are united in supporting Ukraine," the head of the British Ministry of Defense, John Healey, said.

At the 24th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, which will take place on September 6, attention will be focused on strengthening Kyiv's and the Air Force Coalition's air defense capabilities.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine use LMM missiles from Thales on Stormer anti-aircraft missile systems and Martlet MANPADS.
