Rebuilding Ukraine: Poland steps up to aid in reconstructing Lviv after devastating Russian attack

Poland responded to Russia's attack on Lviv today by offering assistance in restoring the damaged historic buildings.

Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, wrote on X.

"Lviv needs help! The city's center was the target of the Russian attack," he wrote.

The Prime Minister of Poland noted that during the attack, Russia damaged a large number of historic buildings in the city.

"Poland is ready to help with their recovery," Tusk said.

It should be noted that Lviv's Mayor Andrii Sadovyi reported that on September 4, a house in Lviv was hit during a combined strike by the Russian Federation, resulting in the death of almost an entire family. Only the husband survived.

During the evening and early hours of September 4, Ukraine's territory was targeted by Russian aggressors with attack drones and various types of missiles. The western region of the country suffered the brunt of the attack, resulting in fatalities and injuries in Lviv, as well as casualties in Kryvyi Rih.

According to the military's report, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine during the night of September 3 to 4.

On the evening of September 3, Russian troops launched an attack using drones that were detected in Ukrainian airspace.

Around 2 a.m., the Russian occupiers sent five Tu-95MS strategic bombers into the sky. Several hours later, they fired cruise missiles over Ukraine, which were detected at 5 a.m.

At around 5 and 6 a.m., the Tu-22M3 and MiG-31K were airborne, while drones and missiles from the enemy were successfully intercepted over Ukraine.

As of the morning of September 4, more than 30 people were injured, and seven people died, including children, as a result of the Russian combined attack with missiles and UAVs in Lviv.

Overall, the Russian military conducted a joint strike on Ukraine, using a variety of weapons, including cruise missiles, Kinzhal and Iskander-K missiles, and Shahed attack drones. As a result, Ukrainian air defenses successfully shot down 29 enemy aircraft.
