Solutions from Ukraine: Uklon offers Poltava blood donors compensation for visiting regional transfusion station

Until September 20, blood donors in Poltava can receive UAH 150 for their trip to the regional blood transfusion station through the Uklon taxi service.

What is the problem?

It is important to mention that on September 3, a rocket attack targeting an educational institution in Poltava led to the death of 53 people and left 271 others injured. Rescuers are still searching for survivors, and there may be up to 13 individuals trapped under the rubble.

"The Russians are shelling peaceful Ukrainian cities every day, but the attack on Poltava was the most massive. Over 50 individuals have lost their lives, and there are over 235 wounded individuals whom we can assist.

Poltava hospitals have already used up the supply of donor blood to save the wounded, and the townspeople must replenish it so that doctors continue to help the victims and all those who may also need a transfusion," says Iryna Slavinska, co-founder of DonorUA and President of the NGO All-Ukrainian Association of Donors of Ukraine.

What is the solution?

This is the reason why Uklon and DonorUA are aiding hospitals in Poltava to restock their blood supply to rescue the lives of residents who were harmed due to the Russian bombardment on September 3.

How does it work?

Here's how to use the service:

• First, sign up for DonorUA.

• Next, go to the personal account and book a donation at the Poltava Regional Blood Transfusion Station every weekday between September 4 and 20.

• Then, click on the "Get promo code" button, which will be available in the bonuses section after a donation is scheduled.

• Finally, enter the promo code received into the Uklon app and use it when booking a taxi to the blood center.

"If promotional codes remain unused after September 20, their validity period will be extended. After donating blood and confirming the donation in their personal account, donors will receive 100 bonus points, which they can exchange for another gift from the bonus program," the press service reported.

It is important to note that there are currently five groups of combat medics within the Marine Corps who are prepared to perform blood transfusions in the pre-hospital stage. This week, the final group is finishing their training. By the end of the month, four marine stabilization points will be fully equipped with all necessary supplies for blood storage, transportation, and transfusion.

The Ministry of Defense, in partnership with the Medical Forces "East," has successfully set up the first underground hospital to offer primary healthcare and stabilize wounded soldiers. This is part of a larger initiative with over twenty underground stabilization points.
