Russian troops strike Zaporizhzhia with missile, killing two, including a child
On Tuesday night, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia, killing two people, one being an eight-year-old boy. Two other innocent civilians were wounded.
Ivan Fedorov, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.

At around 11:00 p.m., the city was shelled by Russia. Before that, the Ukrainian Air Force had issued warnings about the potential use of ballistic weapons.
An air raid warning was given for the eastern and several central areas, including Zaporizhzhia.
"An eight-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman were killed, a 12-year-old girl and a 43-year-old man were injured as a result of a Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia," Fedorov wrote.
He previously stated that the structure had been partially devastated by an attack from the enemy. The tall buildings, affected by the powerful shockwave and flying debris, are situated side by side.
The situation in Zaporizhzhia
- In addition, according to the head of the Regional Military Administration, the enemy carried out 11 airstrikes on Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novodarivka, and Preobrazhenka.
- 198 UAVs of various modifications attacked Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, and Poltavka.
- Three rounds of MLRS fire hit Huliaipole and Novodanilivka.
- One hundred artillery shells were fired on the territory of Prymorskyi, Huliaipole, Novoandriivka, Robotyne, Mala Tokmachka, Malynivka, Novodanylivka, and Poltavka.
- Thirty-eight reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure facilities.

It's worth mentioning that on September 2, President Volodymyr Zelensky took a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region. During his visit to Zaporizhzhia, he inspected the progress of reconstructing a damaged apartment building.
Earlier, Rubryka reported that as a result of the Russian assault on the Zaporizhzhia region on August 20, six children were injured and one teenager killed. In addition, three more adults sustained injuries.
