United to win: Great Britain and 12 partner nations have trained 40,000 Ukrainian soldiers in Interflex operation within two years
In a span of two years, Great Britain, with the assistance of 12 other countries, has provided training for over 40,000 Ukrainian Defense Forces personnel as part of the Interflex multinational training operation.
The General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces reported this on Facebook.
"Under the leadership of instructors of the Ground Forces of the Defense Forces of New Zealand, classes are held for service members of Ukraine's armed forces on basic combined military training as part of the Interflex multinational training operation in Great Britain," the message reads.
Soldiers undergo practical training sessions involving:
- basic combined military training modules, including navigating through obstacle courses in simulated combat scenarios,
- conducting defensive exercises,
- moving through the battlefield,
- and learning tactical medicine to enhance their psychological resilience and combat abilities.
As the General Staff reminded, the initial batch of Ukrainian military personnel participating in the "Interflex" operation led by the United Kingdom arrived in Great Britain on June 27, 2022.
As part of this operation, Britain, along with the backing of 12 partner countries, has trained over 40,000 service members of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in two years.
It should be mentioned that the Interflex program targets new Ukrainian army recruits with little or no military background. Its goal is to equip them with fundamental abilities and competencies essential for survival and combat proficiency.
The five-week course covers instruction in weapon handling, marksmanship, tactics, patrolling, urban warfare, site clearance, handling explosives, demining, first aid, international humanitarian law, laws and customs of war, and other topics.
The General Staff emphasized that, in addition to training new and skilled personnel for Ukraine's armed forces, Great Britain, along with other Western nations, including Australia and New Zealand, consistently provides weapons, ammunition, and logistical support.
The training is conducted at the educational and material facilities of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
For reference:
Since the first months of the full-scale Russian war against Ukraine, Ukraine's armed forces soldiers have been participating in a variety of training programs in Britain. A unique training facility has been built specifically for this purpose to provide the military with the most effective training possible. This facility is equipped and designed to allow troops to gain valuable experience conducting combat operations in urban environments.
Moreover, Ukrainian service members undergo training in positional warfare led by Danish instructors. They actively practice techniques for preparing, capturing, and maintaining control of a position.
Moreover, Ukrainian combat medics in Canada receive specialized training that includes special effects.
