Ukraine's Vladyslav Bily takes silver in Javelin throwing at 2024 Paralympics

Vladyslav Bily, a para-athlete from Ukraine, won a silver medal in the F38 javelin throwing event at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

The broadcast of the competition evidences this.

Therefore, the Ukrainian athlete threw a distance of 52.86 meters. Jose Lemos of Colombia claimed the gold medal, while the bronze went to Chinese athlete An Dongquan.

Another Ukrainian, Oleksandr Doroshenko, may also have been a prize winner, but he fell short of the bronze medal by 12 cm.

Ukraine has already received five awards at these competitions. Ukrainian para-athletes won two silver and two bronze medals on the first day.

The 2024 Summer Paralympic Games will be held from August 28 to September 8, 2024, in Paris at the same venues used for the Olympic Games.

This year, Ukraine is represented by the largest delegation in its history — 140 athletes in 17 out of 22 sports.

At the opening ceremony, the Ukrainian flag was carried by fencer Olena Fedota-Isaieva and rower Roman Poliansky.

The Ukrainian national team won its first medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games. Anton Kol, a swimmer, brought home the "silver" in the S1 class 100 m backstroke event.

At the previous competitions in Tokyo, Ukraine took 6th place in the medal count, having won a total of 98 awards, 24 of which were gold.
